Since 2003, Odebrecht has encouraged researchers and delved into topics associated with Brazil’s history through the Odebrecht Historical Research Award - Clarival do Prado Valladares. By offering the conditions for the completion of relevant projects and their publication as illustrated books, the award helps enrich the country’s document archives.

Each year, a project is chosen and its author receives the necessary support to make it a reality. The award is an effort to promote historical research to thereby contribute to knowledge and understanding of Brazil’s economic and sociopolitical evolution. The editorial production resulting from the initiative makes up the Odebrecht Cultural Editions collection.
