Since 2004, Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias (OR) has undertaken residential, corporate, commercial and tourism developments all over Brazil. The company, which was created to strengthen the Organization’s presence in the real estate segment, has regional offices in Recife, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Brasília.

Its operations stand out for their commitment to sustainability during all project phases. This posture led OR to become the founding Member of the Green Building Council do Brasil.

Yet another differential of the company is its care not only with the internal details of the product, but also around the developments themselves. Whenever necessary, OR installs new signs or repaves the roads located near its projects.

Those products that integrate commercial and residential units – the so-called “mixed use” developments – are already part of the company’s portfolio. This concept represents a trend in the sector and improves the quality of life of both the residents and professionals who work there.

With perspectives for growth over the upcoming years, in May 2010 Gávea Investimentos – one of the main fund managers in Brazil’s financial market – became a shareholder of OR. In the new shareholder composition, Gávea holds 14.5% of the OR voting capital, and Odebrecht holds 85.5%.

Bairro Novo

Controlled by OR, the company Bairro Novo (meaning “New Neighborhood”) constructs low-cost housing. The developments have from 1,000 to 10,000 units, grouped into condominiums with up to 500 houses and apartments. The neighborhoods offer the differential of complete infrastructure: from paved roads with traffic signs to schools and even commercial centers.

The delivery of the keys takes place within a maximum period of 12 months after the start of the construction work. This efficiency is guaranteed by the standardization and industrialization of the processes used. The units are made from reinforced concrete using imported aluminum molds. With a single set from these molds, it is possible to build a floor for six houses in 24 hours.
